Keys work separately (this is, they are not physically damaged since they respond when tested with keyboard testing tools), and others Fn hotkeys work too (like sound adjust and sleep ones). Brightness is the only one (along with another hotkey that shows a battery icon which I don't know what function has) that doesn't work. The fastest way to adjust screen brightness will be to use the keys below. These vary depending on computer brand. Note: If you already know how to increase and decrease the brightness but the brightness control is no longer working scroll down to Laptop brightness control not working section near the end of the article Related articles. Install dell drivers properly. So somehow my brightness adjustment keys (f3 & f4) on my laptop stopped working along with any brightness adjustment such as 'Darkest mode' in battery tab has been disabled. There's nothing wrong with the hardware of the keys as I tested that other functions like alt+f4 still work. I think this might've happened after one of the updates.
Hello, this is my first time posting here. My problem concerns my Fn hotkey for brightness, they don't work. I've recently bought a second hand HP ProBook 6460b, it came with Windows 10 installed. When I try to cange such setting I get nothing. Keys for brightness are F9 and F10 (lower and highet bright, respectively). The one displaying the battery icon is F8, but I'm not worried about that one. I've Googled my problem, and the solutions I've tried are:
·Updating drivers for both Monitor and Display adapters ·Enabling both Monitor and Display adapters ·Changing drivers for Display adapters and using Windows' basic display drivers ·Updating BIOS, which I couldn't since HP doesn't offer any update for my BIOS using Windows 10.
Hp Brightness Control Not Working
Any help will be very appreciated, it is very annoying to have to manually change my settings at the Control Panel. Also, I'd prefer having a solution for the issue rather than installing an external program for it to be done (ie a program that creates a shortcut so I can config my own). I will consider it as a last choice. Thank you for your time.
Brightness Keys Not Working Hp
Hi,
Hp Laptop Brightness Adjustment Not Working
I have this laptop for almost a year now and I could control the screen brightness with the function (Fn) key and F9/F10 keys, but since a month or so it just stopped working. I can control the brightness via the control panel window and volume control using the function keys also works, so it must be some setting.
I looked through the advanced power plan settings, but I couldn't find a solution.
I am using windows 8 on a HP Zbook 15.
Does anyone know what's up?
.
Edit: After another hour of googling I found the solution. The Hotkey driver fixed the issue. For those with the same issue, her is the link(I will leave this post here for others with the same problem):
